This is a very emotional piece. A piece that I’ve been planning for a while. I hope that it impacts your heart as it has mine. Here is my sister Ruth saying a little bit about being part of my project:

 

My struggle with my self-image and self-love has beenlifelong. Some healing I’ve found within myself, some I’ve found through the eyes of my daughter and the love of my partner. I have been marked more times than my skin has room to show. Some of the marks in this painting are really marked on my skin, others are marked on my soul, all have made me the mother, lover, and person that I am proud to be today. I still have wounds that I am working on, and I’m sure more that I will find down the road. Thank you Jessy, for being my amazing sister and telling my story throughyour creative lens as well as allowing me to be a part of creating it with you.
